okay, so I finally did it:

Actually, I did it almost two weeks ago, but i've been so busy, sun up to sun down, I havn't had much time for anything else lately. Ive been overwhelmed with orders. Again. (But that's the good news.) Monolith Models is definitely working.

Anyway, of the over 600 images to process, Ive gotten half way thru doing just a little each night right before bed time. As time goes on, I'll start uploading more. So, if you're on tumblr, send me a message or something so I know who you are and I'll do the 'follow' thing, or whatever its called. :paranoid:

Most of the new pictures are uploaded to my website:

but in reality, that whole site needs an overhaul as well. Facepalm  (but atleast I got something done.)

It still slays me-none of my fine art was ever even meant to be viewed by the public, let alone purchased. So what changed? welp, not too long ago, I was contacted by a museum in Kentucky. the email that was sent was very cordial and respectful. and when i clicked on their link, what was in their museum was all professional artists. That an institution was actually taking me seriously was very humbling.Meow :3  Well, as flattering as it was, I don't actually live in Kentucky. But it got me thinking about, well, everything. And more specifically, where I going with it

Voluptasism, was something that was born in the safety of my own studio. I guess in a way, it was a bucket list sort of thing.

In art school, I was bullied by one of the 'sculptor' teachers there.

And what's awful, is that I had no choice but to go along with it. (If I get anything less than a 'B', I can kiss it all goodbye.) The grants, the scholarships, financial aid, etc., everything that I had worked my ass off for, its all gone because of one A-hole. He was a 'self-proclaimed', so called, 'fifth generation student of Rodin'. (WTF thats supposed to mean, I don't even know) But he loved nothing more, than to kiss his own ass, and basically, he was trying to bring his religious beliefs into the classroom in regards to a woman's body. His attitude was basically: women are not capable of making the 'correct' decisions in regards to their own bodies, so he has decided he's going to make that decision for you, and in the lunacy of his mind, he actually thinks he's doing you a favor. (And just like the John Kasich's of the world, he'll try to do it, with a condescending smile on his face.)

So long story short, I was bullied.

And in his gutsyness, he was trying to muscle in on anything figurative related in the sculpture dept and introduce censorship.
Sooo, I stopped taking sculpture classes, and went back to photography. (I was a photography major, not a sculptor, originally.)

But obviously, I didn't stop studying sculpture. Now, I was doing it in the privacy and safety of my own studio, with the woman I was dating at the time, free to do whatever we chose, where people like him didn't exist. It was a parallel world so to speak. That is where it was born. And I would say, that is where my true development took place...

And, I vowed I would never be bullied again.

Anyhoo, I'll upload more images as I find more time, Woohooooo!  its late, later, running your own business can be quite taxing...

(but that's the good news. Boing! Boing! Ohm... Ohm... )

I'm unsure with what exactly is the meaning of a sculpture so I'm sorry if my question sounds dumb but, was this made with a cast? I ask because it seems when something is chiseled, it seems to always be a bit too perfect and this piece isn't flawed or wrong, but it's very *real* and *true* and to me personally, it illustrates that the body is art, "perfect" or not, they're all beautiful and magnificent.

If by 'cast', you mean it was 'molded' then cast into the mold, then yes. RTV silicone was used for the mold, the casting is a mixture of gypsum cement with a resin binder.

I've done marble carving before, but this piece was not carved.
